Care Guide

How to Clean Suede Leather Hats

At Bohemian Atelier Collection, we use natural suede leather, not faux alternatives. Suede is soft, elegant, and unique—but it requires gentle care to maintain its beauty.

Always test any cleaning method on a small, hidden area first.

What You’ll Need

  • Suede brush
  • Soft, clean white cloth
  • Pencil or art gum eraser
  • Blunt knife or plastic edge
  • Emery nail file (optional)
  • Baby powder or cornstarch

Removing Dried Stains & Scuffs

Step 1: Cloth

Gently rub the stained area with a clean cloth to remove surface dirt.

Step 2: Eraser

Use a pencil or art gum eraser to lift remaining marks.

Step 3: Emery File

Lightly scrub stubborn stains only if needed.

Removing Oily Stains

Apply baby powder or cornstarch to the stain and let it sit for one hour. Brush away and repeat until oil is absorbed. Finish by brushing to restore the nap.

Removing Liquid Stains

Blot immediately with a clean cloth. Allow to air dry naturally. If needed, follow dried stain removal steps.
